7. Gather info for your guest mailing list: emails, addresses, etc.

This is the most time-consuming wedding task of all – get this done now and save yourself the headache! You can also use it as an excuse to touch base with family and friends to see how everyone is doing and make connections before you get busy with wedding planning.

8. Pick stuff for your ceremony.

This is a great chance to envision what you want in your ceremony and plan out the small details.

  • Pick your readings & readers
  • Research creative ceremony traditions to add. Check this fun list for ideas!
  • Work with your officiant(s) over Zoom to pin down your ceremony script
  • Think about any reserved seating for family – who sits where?
  • Plan our your processional: who do you want to walk, and when?

9. Choose your music

This is your chance to browse for music selections – feel free to ask your family and friends for ideas, or not!

  • Song selections for your ceremony: processional, recessional, etc.
  • Song selections for all the important moments like dances, cake cutting, introductions, and the last song of the evening.
  • Feeling extra? Make a full cocktail hour playlist to set just the mood you’re looking for.
  • Make a “Getting Ready” playlist for your wedding.

10. Food + Bar

Now it’s time to think about food and drink. Here are some places to start:

  • You haven’t had your tasting? Figure out what you want to try from the list your caterer provided
  • Work on your bar selections, including signature drink names and recipes

11. Wedding party

This is a great chance to pick your wedding party, communicate with them and connect on your big day (remind them of the wedding date so they can mark their calendars EARLY!), and think about details.

  • Plan any gifts of treats you may want to give
  • Decide on a few choices for the wedding party’s wardrobe and order swatches & samples
  • Ordering breakfast, lunch, or coffee while getting ready? Figure out a plan now.

12. Fashion

What do you want to look like? How about your spouse? How about your wedding party? This is the time to dream and explore. Better to get a jump start than feel stressed and in a time crunch later.

  • Think about accessories! Jewelry, ties, hair pieces, cufflinks, socks, shoes, tie clips – all the things
  • Virtual dress hunting!
  • Check out the online suit rental providers
  • Look into having a custom dress or suit made
