Couple under umbrella at Thornberry Creek wedding reception

Meet Jamie & Zach.

Jamie & Zach are THE BEST. They got married during the Covid pandemic with a super intimate wedding with 20 people in attendance. They really wanted to have an outdoor ceremony a year later to celebrate in style, with EVERYONE in attendance, so they planned a big vow renewal and reception to make their marriage celebration complete! We were so glad to work with them during the wedding planning process, and on the day, our Alex and Ali were the wedding coordinator and assistant who pulled off all the wedding management.

Right before getting on the party bus, Jamie and Zach had a quick first look together at the hotel. They hopped on board the bus with their wedding party and the wedding celebrating began!

The Ceremony: Green Bay Botanical Garden

They wanted to have a wedding in Green Bay, which is their hometown, and they chose two DELIGHTFUL venues for the ceremony and reception. The outdoor ceremony was held at the Green Bay Botanical Garden, which is absolutely stunning without any additional decor. What a dream! No decorating, endless flowers, beautifully maintained grounds – all we did was put up a welcome sign, and I tent due to rain, and the ceremony beauty was ready to go.

Botanical gardens have a system where you have to make a decision at the beginning of the week if you’re going to get a tent – make the call nearly a week early. Thankfully weather forecasts are decent at predicting, so it was helpful for us to decide to get the tent so the rental company has enough time to put it up. The botanical gardens has that all in place, but making the decision and following through with a planner is so helpful.

The tent was put in place to keep the guests covered and comfortable. When it was time for Jamie to walk down the aisle, she walked through the tent down the aisle, but the wedding party wanted to be in the open air, and they didn’t mind getting a little wet! We loved their carefree attitude about the ceremony, and their attention to comfort for their guests.

The Wedding Party: Downtown Green Bay

On a rainy and cloudy wedding day, couples and wedding parties have the choice to choose a positive attitude or a negative one. Based on the photos below, can you figure out which attitude Jamie, Zach, and friends chose?

The Reception: Thornberry Creek

Thornberry Creek, the official golf course for the Green Bay Packers, is a high-end venue that was the perfect backdrop for their reception. The rain was no big deal since they had planned on an indoor wedding reception, and the raindrops made for beautiful, romantic umbrella photos outside during sunset. Thankfully, O&B Photo Co was the photographer, and they embraced it, and got creative! They made the most of the pockets of time without rain, and when there was, they broke out the umbrellas and had a blast.

All our love!

Jamie & Zach,

We love you two dearly and hope that your first two years of marriage have been an absolute joy. We love the way you adapted and rolled with the punches by being flexible with your wedding during a global pandemic, and we all have so much to learn from you both in how to make lemonade when life tosses you lemons.

Much love,

Marsha & Team
