Congratulations to Cathy and Cody, who were married August 4th, 2018! Captured by Tara Draper Photography. Their wedding celebration was at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells. Video was captured by Sound by Design of Shorewood, Wisconsin. This gorgeous, peacock-inspired wedding was vibrant with color. Here are some of our favorite pics of their big day… Enjoy!

Favorite Wedding Moment
Cody: When we were standing in front of everyone right before dinner started. We were about to give our speech and I realized it all had finally happened.
Cathy: The day was coming to a close, we were in the heat of the reception and I was able to sneak over to the candy bar for a moment alone. The candy bar was in the corner of the room so I was able to turn around and really take in the room, see everyone having fun, see how all the hard work and month of planning had finally paid off. It was so gratifying to know all the craziness was over with but worth it.

Highlights
Cody: Sharing the vows, laser tag, the best man and maid of honor speeches, the dance.
Cathy: Getting ready with my girls, the smile Cody had when he saw me walking down the aisle, laser tag, the food and watching everyone with the glowsticks.

Planning Advice
Cody: Do it your way! Do it how you want it…at the end of the day it’s your wedding!
Cathy: Be decisive. Start planning early so everything isn’t left to last minute. Remember to please yourself with decisions along the way not what everyone else wants. I recommend a wing man (Yes! I found that in a planner!) That’s what it takes to ensure not only you but all of your family and guests enjoy the weekend. It was so worth it!

Most Concerned About
Cody: Keeping everyone (vendors, wedding party, families) all on the same page.
Cathy: I was always worried that I was forgetting something.

Something You Would Definitely Do Again
Cody: Have it all indoors again. And the Air-Conditioned Limo Bus. Let your people be comfortable, less factors to plan around.
Cathy: Glowsticks, only $100 and they brought so much fun! Cheesecake instead of cake. Get a videographer, as a couple who recently (within the last 3 weeks) got the finished video back. We have loved reliving our day from another point of view, see all we missed along the way and have extra special memories to pass on. I know they were pricey, but I have watched it close to 10 times already and Im still tearing up (maybe more every time I do.)

Something you would NOT do again?
Cody: Bad Florist! It’s rough enough planning then adding that to all the stress.
Cathy: Check into your vendors, we were screwed over by our original florist. We ended up overpaying not only for product, but to get the flowers redone. I went with the first florist due to seeing a type of flower (orchid) that she had in an artificial option that still looked real, which was important to me. Unfortunately we did find out our second “fixer” florist would have been able to get them as well.
