A Weekend-Long Camp Wedding

Morgan and Ben knew from the start that they wanted to plan a playful, midwestern, cozy camp wedding to last all weekend long with their best people, and it was a wedding celebration full of inspiration, connection, and JOY. We were honored to plan and execute this wedding weekend! To kick things off, enjoy the videography trailer from Tim Thornburg Films with highlights from the weekend, and then explore to see all the elements that formed a truly special wedding.

And many thanks to Abigail Traver Photography for sharing her beautiful photography with us! She is so talented and kind, and we loved working with her on this weddding.

The Welcome Party

Once Morgan & Ben’s guests arrived to Waupaca, they got settled and hopped on the trolly (!!!) to zip over to Clear Water Harbor for an evening of great food and drinks, and a boat ride on the Waupaca Chain o’ Lakes. This field trip set the tone for a wedding weekend that prioritizes meaningful connection and happy activities.

The Camp Activities

The whimsy made its appearance when all the camp activities began! During the weekend, the weather was perfect for a dip in the water – or a kayak ride, or a paddleboard, thanks to our incredible hosting venue, Camp Elsewhere. They also had the perfect space for group games like capture the flag and archery, as well as great eating and resting options, like camp fires and a fish fry. The camp activities throughout the weekend gave Morgan and Ben a chance to rest and play with their guests BEFORE the wedding day. We love this creative approach to connection – this was a priority, and they utilized every moment of the wedding weekend to make it happen.

The Wedding Ceremony

Once it was time for the guests to freshen up in their colorful wedding attire, it was time to head down to the lake for the outdoor ceremony. Morgan was walked down the aisle by her parents, and the joyful ceremony kicked off.

The Wedding Party & The Camp Venue

Camp Elsewhere was such a delightful venue for its ample lovely outdoor spaces with lake views, tall pines, and even a moment for a canoe ride. Not to mention the adorable glamping accommodations that allowed for the happy couple to be WITH their guests all weekend long! With the bridesmaids in rainbow with coordinating purses and the groomsmen in bright blue, these colors popped against the natural backdrop in such a gorgeous way. The colors also were the perfect way to celebrate the beginning of summer. A round of applause for Abigail Traver Photography and her ability to capture it all so beautifully!

The Wedding Reception

This reception has design that still blows us away! Morgan & Ben hired Evolutions in Design to create lush, vibrant florals EVERYWHERE, and wow, what an impact. Ben built a boat that was designed to hold the table assignments for the reception, and it was such a lovely, handcrafted way to be welcomed into the reception tent. Add a great DJ, great food, and guests who were relaxed, comfortable, and had been taken care of, and the resulting party was delightful.
