I’ve had so many friends and even potential clients reach out to me after their weddings to say that they wished they had invested in a wedding planner. I don’t want this to happen to you, as I don’t want you to look back on your wedding day with regrets or with anything other than complete joy. Since you can’t go back in time and re-do anything, I want you to make an informed decision about hiring a wedding planner and if it’s worth it or not.

What does a wedding planner do? How would it be a benefit to my wedding?  A great wedding planner will be well, well worth it, in my opinion: time saved, stress and overwhelm relieved, incredible peace of mind gained, money saved, an advocate and guide for you throughout your engagement, trusting that your wedding will be executed flawlessly, and knowing that you have a team of vendors on board for one of the most important days of your life.

Hiring a wedding planner can make planning a wedding a little easier on your nerves. Here are a few reasons why you should consider hiring a professional wedding planner:

You’ve never done this before

Chances are you and your fiancé haven’t planned a wedding before.  Even if you have, there are always new and exciting trends, venues, and vendors popping up so it’s never the same. Some couples feel that they can plan their own weddings because they’ve helped a sister or best friend plan theirs but planning your own wedding is completely different. A professional wedding planner is the best person to guide you through this intricate process.

The stress is getting to you

Planning a wedding is harder than it looks and if you’re already losing sleep over your massive to-do list, hiring a wedding planner can really make the entire process much more manageable and enjoyable for you. You should be excited about your big day, not stressed and tearful.

You’re unsure about the costs involved

If you’re in the process of putting a budget together and would like some more guidance on what to expect based on your unique preferences, a wedding planner can be your guide. A professional wedding planner can offer you great insights on industry norms and trends and what you can expect. They can also really help you stick to your budget.

Time is EVERYTHING!!

The average couple will spend between two and three hundred hours planning their wedding. Balancing wedding planning with a career, a social life and the other demands of the modern world is often a huge challenge. Having a planner involved in your wedding will save you valuable time, because they will do the legwork and research for you. Only presenting you with the vendor options that really fit your budget and desires. They will guide you through the process, ensuring that each aspect of the wedding planning happens at the appropriate time, and helping you avoid the pitfalls that come with inexperience in the wedding industry.

You need a push start

A wedding planner can help you get the ball rolling so that you can start making all the important decisions. They’ll help bring your vision together and put you in touch with vendors and suppliers who can help bring your day to life.

Help prevent/solve problems on the day of your wedding

Your wedding day should be the most special, memorable day in your lives. You should be able to focus on each other as you pledge to love, honour, and cherish, and to enjoy the result of the hard work you’ve put into planning your wedding. However, many couples find that they (or their family/wedding party) instead spend the day “working” – that is, they must call the florist when the wrong flowers are delivered, find a place for the unexpected guest to sit, and track down the DJ when s/he is late. When a planner is on site, these problems will be solved, often before you (or your guests) even know there is an issue. The peace-of-mind of knowing that they can just relax and enjoy their day is well worth the cost of a wedding planner.

Save relationships with your friends and family

It’s no surprise that tensions can arise between family and friends during the process of planning a wedding.  A professional wedding planner can be a great objective resource in tricky family situations.

Be the point of contact and field about 1000 questions on the wedding day

Your wedding planner will be the point of contact for all vendors on your wedding day so you can focus on the important moments with those you love the most. Not distracted about the execution of the day itself.

Conclusion

Wedding planners can be an essential part of your entire wedding planning experience. Not just for the execution aspect of your Big Day but the planning itself. Investing in a wedding planner, at first glance, may seem like an unnecessary expense. However, many couples have realized that investing in a well-qualified wedding planner is the most valuable investment they can make in their wedding so they can look back and have NO REGRETS.

With heart,
